Here's my pitch we had to create in a seminar...

1. My Product is a documentary about Confessions of a Tanaholic. Glamorous and colourful using celebrity Katie Price who will investigate the dangers of tanning beds, the best fake tanning products, the pressure to be tanned and a months diary of life as Jordan without fake tan. With interviews with people with skin cancer, also bring awareness of the seriousness of the subject.

2. Itv2 “our younger entertainment channel, brings to screen an exciting mix of talent, celebrity gossip and young”
• Loose Women
• The Only way is Essex
• Snog Marry Avoid
• What Katie Did Next

3. What is your revenue model? Revenue from adverts ie. Fake Tan, beauty products and hair products. 5% go towards cancer research and 10% to you.

5. bbc iplayers ‘The truth about tanning’ Created awareness to the government, uses Nicola Roberts. Has created the awareness of tanning dangers to the government. Banned Under 18 going on sunbeds. Tries to get girls to feel comfortable in there own pale skin.

6. The difference is Katie still goes on sunbeds so the documentary will be more empathetic as Katie will go through the process of stopping tanning. The documentrary also understands its not that easy to stop tanning on sunbeds, so give tips on the alternative ‘fake tannning’. More positive approach than negative.

Thoughts about Work Experience...

Just working on my essay tonight. Added some things to my CV that i did over the summer. I've emailed it out to a variety of companies in birmingham and liverpool asking for work experience. I chose brimingham because thats where I am originally from. I also thoguht i'd try liverpool because my boyfriend lives there so i could stay with him and it would be fun to try working in a new city. I've created a BBC work experience log in, which said they would email me tomorrow with work experience oppurtunities in the west midlands revolving around television etc so I look forward to that. I've decided for the moment my interests do lie in commercials, mainly because i've only ever created short films in the past. Feature films are too long and look so complicated to make! I've got an idea for an advert that I might try and shoot just for fun. My sister said she'd help out and be an actor, so when she comes down to visit me from london I might use her for my advert!

RISK ASSESSMENT FORM

I have read the risk assessment form and agree that they are very important. By completing the form it helps a filming crew to prepare in advance to avoid any potential accidents that could take place during filming. It also enable the filming crew to think about whether they need to seek permission to use any locations or if they need to recieve a form of consent from people to whom it may affect.
